The Vanilla Chai Protein Smoothie

I tried out Kourtney Kardashian’s vanilla chai protein smoothie, and it has become a staple in my post-workout routine. I stumbled upon the recipe by chance one day. At first, I couldn’t believe that cinnamon and spinach were among the short list of items being called to the blender. Weird mix but okay. I moved past this and quickly realized how wrong my initial judgment of this smoothie was.

I opted the extra cup of spinach out for half of an avocado. Personally, I love this modification. The avocado and vanilla protein mesh perfectly together for a deliciously low-key flavor. The texture (thank you, avocado) was unbeatable. This was a surprise, because I’ve found that mastering the ratio of liquid to solid for a smooth consistency to be a recurring challenge for me across all previous recipes I’d tried. By adding the spices to this base for a comforting chai finish, my tastebuds were pleasantly caught off guard. Not only does this smoothie offer the unbeatable texture and taste, but getting in the dose of protein needed after strenuous activity makes it the go-to choice after any workout. It’s safe to say that it’s definitely worth a try. Here’s everything you need to know to whip this up yourself:

Ingredients:

1/2 avocado

1/2 cup spinach

1/4 tsp ginger

1 serving vanilla protein powder (I like plant-based)

1 tsp chai spices (or mix of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves)

1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)

1 handful ice

Instructions:

  1. Combine the ingredients in a blender.

  2. Blend until smooth.

  3. Enjoy your delicious and nutritious smoothie.
